Our infant mattresses start with a 1.5" thick organic natural
rubber (latex) core. This natural rubber is collected from rubber
tree plants in Sri Lanka, and heated and whipped to make the foam
rubber core. No toxic chemicals are added and no synthetic
materials are mixed in. It is pure natural rubber. They are then
covered with an organic wool puddle pad protector. The puddle pad
topper eliminates the need to purchase a separate puddle pad to
keep your mattress clean. Just spot-clean it with baking soda and
water. If there is only urine on it, you can simply let it air dry
and the bacteria will die within an hour. Note that it does not
come off to put in the wash. If you want a puddle pad that you can
wash in the machine, you might want to purchase an extra one for
convenience, but there's really no need to. There's no need for concern that the mattress isn't thick enough.
Our past customers tell us that although they were concerned at
first, the mattress is plenty thick and the best quality available. The organic wool outer topper is very important because it in
itself is a natural flame retardant and stands up to all the
regulations of the Consumer Product Safety Commission without the
use of a single chemical. Not even traces of chemical can be found
on the wool because it is carded on a private machine that is only
used for organic wool. This makes a resilient s that is breathable,
safe, and healthier for your baby to sleep on. You can use it for
every new birth in the family for years to come, unlike the vinyl
covered counterpart that can rip and tear exposing even more toxic
chemicals to your baby.
